When a furchild dies, a cloud turns into an angel and flies up to tell God to put another flower on a pillow. A bird gives the message back to the world and sings a silent prayer that makes the rain cry. Our furchildren may disappear from our lives, but they never really go away. Their spirits put the sun to bed, wake up the grass, and spin the earth in dizzy circles. Sometimes you can see the Rainbow Angels dancing in a cloud during the daytime when they're supposed to be napping. They paint the rainbows and the sunsets. They tug at the tide and make the waves splash. They toss shooting stars and listen to wishes. And when they sing windsongs, they whisper to us,
"Don't miss me too much. The view is nice, and I'm doing just fine."

"How long will the pain last?" A broken-hearted mourner asked me.
"All the rest of your Life," I have to answer truthfully. We never quite forget.
No matter how many years pass, we remember. The loss of a loved one is like a major operation. Part of us is removed, and we have a scar, for the rest of our lives.
As years go by, we manage. There are things to do, things to care for, tasks that call for full attention. But the pain is still there, not far below the surface.
We see a dog or a cat that looks familiar, hear a voice that echoes, see a photograph we put away, see a landscape that once we saw together, and it seems as though a knife were in the wound again.
But not so painfully. And mixed with joy, too, because remembering a happy time is not all sorrow; It brings back some happiness with it, too.
How long will the pain last? "All the rest of your life."
But the thing to remember is that not only will the pain last, but the blessed memories as well.
Tears are proof of life; The more love, the more tears. If this be true, then how could we ever ask that the pain cease altogether? For then the memory of love would go with it.
The pain of grief is the price we pay for love.

AT THE END OF THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

When I woke this morning I felt very odd
I don't know why but I felt close to God
The sun was shining, the birds were singing
The music was soft, the bells were ringing
And puppies were romping at play
What a pleasant start to a wonderful day

I remember lying down to take a nap
I remember I had my head in her lap
I remember the sad look in her eye
I remember I had never seen her cry
I remember I wanted to ask her why
I remember hearing her say "Good Bye"

I wanted to say don't cry for me
I wanted to say just remember me
I wanted to say I remember the toys
I wanted to say I remember the joys
I wanted to say I remember your touch
I wanted to say I loved you so much

I wanted to say what an angel you've been
For showing me the way to him
When I woke up I knew there would be no pain
When I woke up I knew I could play in the rain
You've taken care of me all my life
You've guarded me from trouble and strife

You've been with me through good and bad
You've always stopped me from being sad
You've given me treats and given me care
You told me what to expect when I got there
So please don't cry wipe the tears from your eye
I'll look down upon you with a woof and a sigh

I'll gather my courage and march up to God
I'll ask him when you get there to give you a nod
For you were my master you were my friend
And I'll be waiting for you at the rainbows end.

A DOGGIE PRAYER ♥♥

So do not grieve for me, my friend, as I am with my kind.
My collar is a rainbow's hue
My leash is a shooting star
My boundaries are the milky way, where I sparkle from afar. ♥♥
There are no pens or kennels here, for I am not confined,
but free to roam God's heavens among my special kind. I nap the day on a snowy cloud and gentle breezes are rocking me; I dream the dreams of earthlings and how it used to be. ♥♥
The trees are full of liver treats and tennis balls abound, and milk bones line the walking ways just waiting to be found. There even is a ring set up, the grass all lush and green, and everyone who gaits around becomes the "Best Of Breed". ♥♥
For we're all winners in this
place, we have no faults
you see. And God passes
out the ribbons to each
one--even me. I drink from
waters laced with gold, my
world a beauty to behold.
And wise old dogs do form
my pride to amble at my
very side.♥♥
At night I sleep in an
angel's arms, her wings
protecting me, and
moonbeams dance about
us as stardust falls on
thee.♥♥
So when your life on earth
is spent and you reach
heaven's gate, have no
fear of loneliness, for here,
you know I wait. ♥♥

A letter from your pet in heaven
Author Unknown

To my dearest family,
some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know,
that I arrived okay.

I'm writing this from the Bridge.
Here I dwell with God above.
Here there's no more tears of sadness.
Here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy
just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you
every morning, noon and night.

That day I had to leave you
when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me
and He said, "I welcome you.

It's good to have you back again,
you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family,
They'll be here later on."

God gave me a list of things,
that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list,
was to watch and care for you.

And when you lie in bed at night
the day's chores put to flight,
God and I are closest to you...
in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth,
and all those loving years,
because you are only human,
they are bound to bring you tears.

But do not be afraid to cry:
it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers,
unless there were some rain.

I wish that I could tell you
all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you,
you wouldn't understand.

But one thing is for certain,
though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now,
than I ever was before.

There are rocky roads ahead of you
and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it
by taking one day at a time.

It was always my philosophy
and I'd like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world,
the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody
who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...
"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented...
that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along
I made somebody smile.

God says: "If you meet somebody
who is sad and feeling low;
Just lend a hand to pick him up,
as on your way you go.

When you're walking down the street
with me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps
only half a step behind."

"And when it's time for you to go...
from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going...
you're coming here to me."

Precious Love

The agony is so great...
and yet I will stand it.
Had I not loved so very much...
I would not hurt so much.
But God knows I would not want to diminish
that precious love...
By one fraction of an ounce.
I will hurt...
And I will be grateful for that hurt
For it bears witness to the depth of my love.
And for that I will be eternally grateful.

Beyond the Rainbow

As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.

I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.

I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.

For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

LOVE TO MUFFIN

I Stood By Your Bed
I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep. I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear, "It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."
I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea, You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me.
I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore. I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.
I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care. I want to reassure you, that I'm not lying there.
I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key. I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "It's me."
You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair. I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.
It's possible for me, to be so near you everyday. To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."
You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew ... in the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.
The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning and say "goodnight, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."
And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide, I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.
I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see. Be patient, live your journey out ... then come home to be with me.

Beautiful Muffin

I am so sorry for your loss and can share your pain. I lost Max just a week today. Muffin looks so beautiful and intelligent. I am sure Muffin and Max will mee and with all the other animals, will become great friends and play in that special garden where they can run free and play until its time for us to meet again. Love to you all and especially Muffin. Linda (Max's mum)
